Hi Reader,

The year is heating up and while my pregnant butt can't keep up with the heat, I want to share a quote that has been encouraging me to step out of my comfort zone: "Be brave enough to absolutely suck at something new." This mantra has been particularly meaningful to me during my trip to Obihiro, Japan.

I found myself in a situation that pushed me to embody this quote. I was supposed to travel through Japan with my husband on his tour, but plans changed, and I ended up traveling solo instead. It had been years since I'd traveled alone, and even as a seasoned traveler, I felt the nerves creeping in.

So I took it as an opportunity I embarked on a solo adventure. There were definitely a few bumps along the way like figuring out public transportation in a small Japanese town, and choosing what to do next. But as the days passed, I found my groove- I discovered amazing experiences like walking through botanical gardens, eating at ramen hole-in-the-walls and soaking at a local onsen. I truly enjoyed my time exploring Japan solo. It turned out to be a trip I loved and an empowering experience that has inspired me to embrace more solo experiences in the future. I hope this is something you get to experience too :)
