Hi! I'm Jojo aka Traveling Petite Girl.

I'm finally quitting

Published almost 3 years agoĀ ā€¢Ā 3 min read

Hey Reader,

I just came back from a 1-week vacation, which Iā€™m very thankful for having, because I ended up getting clarity on a few things which I'll cover on today's newsletter.

Here's what I'll cover:

  • I'm quitting social media (life-wise & business-wise)
  • What I'm working on
  • Launching my latest service: Video editing for creators & entrepreneurs
  • I'd love to edit one of your videos for FREE!
  • My slice of life - because I'm no longer updating on Instagram

I'm quitting social media

I'd been thinking about it for a while but finally pulled the trigger when 2 entrepreneurs I follow, Michelle & Amy, decided to leave social media too. I felt so understood and also baffled why I stayed on social media for so long. I thought it was good for business but realized it wasn't worth 20% of my earnings if it blew out my self-esteem.

I unfollowed & muted a bunch of people but ultimately decided to leave Instagram and quit my Facebook page. I share more about "why" and what I'm planning to do to market my blog & business w/o social media in my latest blog post here.

After pulling the trigger, I felt so much free! I have more time to read. And I go to sleep faster! šŸ¤Æ Whaaaat. My mind is no longer processing all the unnecessary things I saw on social media.

What I'm working on now

Now that I don't have to think about creating content for social media anymore, here's what I plan to do:

  • Create more blog & YouTube content (the content that actually matters)
  • Write more fulfilling newsletters like this so you can still get updates + tips (maybe on a monthly basis to wrap-up the month?)
  • Update my website (I've been pushing it back for a year), to reflect the new growth of my brand and...

Launch my latest service: Video editing for creators & entrepreneurs!

I used to be a social media manager but soon realized how I liked the content creating aspect more than the management aspect.

And as much as I like working for myself, I love working for others too. So with the video editing skills I've used to grow my blog, I've decided to offer it as a service for creators & entrepreneurs!

Right now, I'm updating my blog to created a "Services" page for people to learn more about my video editing service -I'll let you know once it's up!

And if you're a Youtuber, a creator, or an entrepreneur, I'd love to edit one of your videos for FREE!

I'm looking to boost my portfolio to add to my Services page. Click the videos below to watch my latest content to get an idea of my editing and how it could look like with your content & branding.

If you're interested in giving me the pleasure to edit your video šŸ˜‰, please reply to this email and let's get the conversation started!

Thank you so much for reading! And thank you for being you :)

Stay well & happy!

My Slice of Life

I'll leave you with photos of small things that happened in my life that I want to share with you :)

When I flew down to Spain, I decided to take a Spanish cooking class that I found on AirBnb. I knew I would be cooking food with other people, but I didn't know I'd be getting drunk too šŸ„‚šŸ˜‚
Sitting by a 60ft cliff that my husband jumped off of like it was nothing šŸ˜² No, I didn't jump. I'm not that brave šŸ˜‚
Experimenting with creating new Lightroom presets to sell. Here's a sample! Going for a what-I-saw-with-my-eyes-but-a-little-bit-better look. So like a natural look but with muted tones while still making skin tones stand out (but not in an Oompa-Loompa way).
And now back home: enjoying a hearty meal of Spanish tortilla and roasted vegetables, with a side of Kimchi (my cat)
A peek of September 2021's wallpaper! The monthly quote is: "I am whole, perfect & complete just as I am."
Simple thing that made me happy: Bringing a large tupperware to the bakery and filling it with croissants to eat every morning for the week. I pop it in the toaster for a few minutes and it's like a freshly baked treat to brighten my morning.
My brain can't handle the cuteness! Every time I empty my grocery bags, this little one likes to go inside and watch me load the groceries into the fridge.

Thanks for making it all the way down here!

Talk to you soon,

Hi Reader, I feel like I haven't emailed you in forever. But I also feel like April went by so quick?? Did you think so too? I have wallpapers for May ready for you to download! Here's a little preview. Download the wallpapers here (Sunday & Monday start) New video (calming to watch and sort of ASMR) I love watching visual daily vlogs like Cloudy Hills and Toka on YouTube so I thought I'd make my own version based on my daily life living in Guam. I love living here and yet many people don't...

Hi Reader, April's right around the corner and I want to share a mantra that has been especially helpful to me, "If it comes, let it. If it goes, let it." These words have been my reminder to release and let go. For the past twelve months, my husband and I have been trying for a baby. Each month, I've been experiencing the highs of hope and the lows of dissappointment. And currently, I'm riding that low. Instead of dwelling on what could have been, I take it as an opportunity to focus on...

Hi Reader, First, I want to say I appreciate you for subscribing to my newsletter. It means a lot to me that you continue to download my wallpapers and read my little blurbs each month. Now onto the juice: For more than a year, I haven't posted YouTube videos because I let myself become consumed by a different lifestyle I began living. I started a corporate job in marketing and while it was a lovely experience, to say the least, it didn't align with my long-term goals and more importantly, my...
